Dripping Springs High School is situated in Region 13 of the Dripping Springs Independent School District. This district is the only one in the area that provides grades 9-12. The school was initially only up to the seventh grade until 1911-12 when it was designated a third-class high school and offered three years of high school. The twelfth grade was added between 1941 and 1942. The Dripping Springs Independent School District has been honored for four consecutive years by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) with the Best Music Education Communities (NAMM) designation for its dedication to musical education. The Dripping Springs Tiger Band has been a consistent UIL finalist and often participates on the Bands of America circuit.
